Anthony Goodling is the President of Sunset Design Build, a premier design-build firm specializing in custom home renovations and new construction projects throughout Southwest Florida’s coastal and intercoastal communities. With over 25 years of experience in architectural design and construction, Anthony has built a distinguished career that spans some of the nation's most high-profile markets—from Manhattan and the Hamptons to Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Anthony began his academic journey studying marine biology before discovering his true passion in design and construction. He earned a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology, blending technical expertise with creative vision.

Anthony’s career began hands-on in the field, where he worked his way up to Master Carpenter. This practical foundation, combined with his formal architectural education, gives him a rare dual perspective—enabling him to approach each project with a deep understanding of both design principles and construction realities.

Renowned for his collaborative approach, meticulous planning, and attention to detail, Anthony ensures that every project reflects the highest standards of quality, safety, and design integrity. His specialized expertise in hurricane-resistant building techniques and Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction makes him particularly well-suited for the rigorous demands of Florida’s coastal environment.

Anthony has been married for 23 years to Dr. Jacquie Smiles and maintains residences in New York, the Hamptons, and Sarasota, Florida.
